Paul Eprile joins Susan Stewart to discuss Jean Giono’s Fragments of a Paradise

Join us at 7pm on November 19th for a reading, conversation, and signing with Paul Eprile, translator of Jean Giono’s forthcoming work, Fragments of a Paradise, and fellow translator Susan Stewart. This event will be held at the wonderful Community Bookstore in Brooklyn. We hope to see you there!
Paul Eprile lives on the Niagara Escarpment in Ontario, Canada. HIs previous translations include three novels by Jean Giono (Hill; Melville; and The Open Road) and two by Colette (Chéri and The End of Chéri). Melville was awarded the French-American Foundation Translation Prize in 2018. Eprile’s rendition of Stendhal’s Armance is forthcoming from NYRB.
Susan Stewart is a poet, critic, and occasional translator. Her most recent books are Cinder: New and Selected Poems; The Ruins Lesson; and a co-translation of Antonella Anedda’s Historiae. Her 2023 Clarendon Lectures are forthcoming from Oxford University Press this Spring.
