Borough Hall Media Room
Maja Haderlap

Maja Haderlap

Slovenian-Austrian author Maja Haderlap, whose Angel of Oblivion was just published by Archipelago Books, will join Egyptian journalist Yasmine El Rashidi, author of the debut novel Chronicle of a Last Summer, and Mauritian writer Ananda Devi, author of the prize-winning Eve out of Her Ruins, to discuss the intersections of politics and identity and the role larger political realities play in shaping the lives of their characters–and the stories they chose to tell.

The roundtable is titled “Political Coming of Age” and will be moderated by Gabriel Sanders of Tablet Magazine.  The talk will take place at 2 PM, in the Borough Hall Media Room (209 Joralemon Street) this coming Sunday, September 18th 2016 as part of the Brooklyn Book Festival.

Stick around afterwards for a book signing by the authors.

Also feel free to stop by and say hello either before or after at our vendor table, where we will have Angel of Oblivion, amongst many other of our titles for sale at booth 332.

Take a peek at this article in which Maja Haderlap discusses her love of translation.

You can also listen to a NPR interview with Yasmine El Rashidi here, and a talk given by Ananda Devi in French here.
