Please join us at Community Bookstore where Kalpana Raina will discuss her collaborative translation of For Now, It Is Night by Hari Krishna Kaul. Kalpana will be in conversation with professor, editor, and novelist Adam Dalva.

Kalpana Raina was born in Kashmir and lives in New York. She is a senior executive with extensive financial, management and advisory experience internationally. Raina is currently the Vice Chair at Words Without Borders, a premier online journal of translations. Her collaborative translation project of stories from the Kashmiri language, For Now, It Is Night, is her first work of translation.

Adam Dalva’s writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, The New York Review of Books, and The Atlantic. He serves on the board of the National Book Critics Circle and is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Rutgers University. He was a judge of the 2022 Story Prize, the Books Editor of Words Without Borders, and the Senior Fiction Editor of Guernica.
