Jacob Rogers and Samuel Rutter at Molasses Books

On Tuesday, April 25th at Molasses Books in Brooklyn, Jacob Rogers will read from his translation of The Last Days of Terranova by Manuel Rivas and speak with translator, writer, and editor Samuel Rutter, as part of the Sant Jordi festival (a traditional Catalan celebration with books, roses, wine and more roses). The event will begin a little after 7:30, and Molasses is open till midnight for post-reading toasts & bites.

JACOB ROGERS is a translator of Galician prose and poetry. His work has appeared in Asymptote, Best European Fiction 2019, PRISM International, Cagibi, Your Impossible Voice, Nashville Review, The Brooklyn RailInTranslation, and the Portico of Galician Literature, with work forthcoming in Lunch Ticket, Copper Nickel, and ANMLY. His translation of Carlos Casares’s novel, His Excellency, came out from Small Stations Press in 2017.

SAMUEL RUTTER is a writer and translator from Melbourne, Australia. He has translated several novels from the Spanish, include Cristina Sánchez-Andrade’s The Winterlings, published by Restless Books in 2016. He has written for Harper’s, The White Review, The Paris Review Daily and T Magazine.
