The End wins 2024 EBRD Literature Prize
Attila Bartis’ The End, translated from the Hungarian by the talented Judith Sollosy, won the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s 2024 Literature Prize! Founded in 2018, the prize recognizes literature in translation by authors from countries in which the Bank invests. The End is the first Hungarian novel to win the award.
Both Bartis and Sollosy were congratulated in person by the president of the EBRD, Odile Renaud-Basso, at an awards ceremony in London. Our heartfelt congratulations to both!
Archipelago released The End in 2023, and Bartis’ Tranquility, translated by Imre Goldstein, in 2008.
