If you’re in the Toronto area\, this evening is not to be missed! \nFine Gråbøl (b. 1992) has previously published a collection of poetry\, Knoglemarv lavendel (Bone-marrow Lavender\, 2018)\, together with the poetry collective BMS – consisting of Dorte Limkilde\, Mette Kierstein\, Ronja Johansen\, and Gråbøl. Although What Kingdom is based on personal experience\, Gråbøl does not consider it “auto-fiction.” \nClaire Foster reads\, writes\, and translates from French. She also works as a bookseller at Type Books. Born and raised in Ohio\, she currently lives in Toronto.

DESCRIPTION:Jessica Moore will be in conversation with the poet and writer Anne Michaels in Toronto on March 7th at TYPE Books. They will discuss Jessica Moore’s translation of Eastbound by Maylis de Kerangal. The event starts at 6:30pm\, and their conversation will begin at 7pm. \nJESSICA MOORE is an award-winning literary translator and the author of two books\, Everything\, now and The Whole Singing Ocean. She has translated three previous books by Maylis de Kerangal: Mend the Living\, Birth of a Bridge and Painting Time. A former Lannan writer-in-residence and a Banff International Literary Translation Centre fellow\, Jessica is also a songwriter. She lives in Toronto. \nANNE MICHAELS is a novelist and poet. Her books are translated into more than fifty languages and have won dozens of international awards\, including the Orange Prize\, the Guardian Fiction Prize\, and the Lannan Award for Fiction. Among many other honours she is a Guggenheim Fellow\, has received honorary degrees\, and has served as Toronto’s Poet Laureate. Her novel Fugitive Pieces was adapted as a feature film. Her most recent books include All We Saw\, Infinite Gradation\, and Railtracks (co-written with John Berger). \n  \n
