Acrobat Gift Basket Raffle
To celebrate the release of beloved Bengali author Nabaneeta Dev Sen’s Acrobat, translated by her daughter Nandana Dev Sen, we’re raffling off a basket filled with ethically sourced spices from Diaspora Co.: Kashmiri Saffron, Aranya Pepper, Anamalai Nutmeg, Sirarakhong Chillies and Pragati Turmeric, all sourced from small family farms across India. To accompany this aromatic array, we’re also including Bengali Cooking: Seasons & Festivals, by Chitrita Banerjee, an inspired cookbook of traditional Bengali meals –– from fish in yoghurt sauce, duck with coconut milk, chicken with poppy seeds, this beautiful book takes you into kitchens in West Bengal and Bangladesh by way of the seasons and religious festivals that shape the region’s cooking. Also included: Archipelago’s My Kind of Girl by Buddhadeva Bose, translated from the Bengali by Arunava Sinha, a story of four men stuck at a train station overnight who open their (broken) hearts to each other.
With each pre-order of Acrobat, you will receive a raffle ticket. You can also purchase as many raffle tickets as you’d like separately for $8.
