Edgardo Cozarinsky, author of Milongas, dies at 85
We are sad to share the news that Argentine writer and filmmaker Edgardo Cozarinsky, author of Milongas, translated from the Spanish by Valerie Miles, died earlier this summer at 85. Cozarinsky remained prolific until the end of his life, producing 27 literary works and 23 films. Of his seminal Urban Voodoo, Susan Sontag once wrote that “Cozarinsky, who is a filmmaker turned writer, or a writer turned filmmaker, has produced here an album of postcards made of words. But his postcards might well take visual form…a kind of lived literature.” We are here sharing two obituaries for Cozarinsky, each published in his native Argentina, one in English, in the Buenos Aires Herald, and one in Spanish, in El País.
